Our 50th anniversary takes place this year so it is the perfect opportunity to celebrate how each practice plays an important role in our firm's  success. This month, we are excited to highlight our Construction Law Practice Group.

Provide a brief overview of the group and types of cases or matters it typically handles. 
The Construction Group at ACKSP has grown substantially in the last 20 years – both in number of attorneys and with the type of cases we handle. We currently represent with a wide array of construction professionals, such as contractors, subcontractors, material suppliers, manufacturers, engineers and designers in a variety of claims, disputes, and litigated matters.

What is one thing people might not know about your practice group? 
I think people may not be aware of the wide variety of legal matters we handle! Here is a quick list:

What has changed the most in your practice over the last years? 
The practice group has worked hard to expand its practice in the last few years to reach beyond insured matters. This effort included reaching out directly to construction companies in order to build relationships so that the companies hire us directly on non-insured matters and also request us on insured matters. We are currently acting as in-house counsel to a number of companies – both big and small – which has allowed us to continue to grow the practice group and is now nearly equal to our insured work.

How does the practice group build and maintain strong client relationships?
The Construction Group is very active in contractor/trade associations and participates in a lot of marketing events with close client contact (golfing, clay shooting, hunting, fishing). We also are available to our clients to answer the small questions as part of our consulting work, which sometimes leads to bigger questions and bigger projects for us.
